With plenty of momentum from the Packers, the 49ers can focus on eating to get out early.
The football world cheered and laughed as the Green Bay Packers easily defeated the Dallas Cowboys.
It was a surprise unlike any other, and it was the first time a seventh seed had won a playoff game since its implementation in 2020. But in some ways, the Packers’ win over the Dallas Cowboys wasn’t a surprise . Starting in November, the Packers really woke up and took off. During that time, the Packers went 8-3 in the playoffs and Jordan Love played at a great level. The Packers have a lot of momentum. They are growing and now playing with house money, which makes them a dangerous team now.
But the 49ers have an easy way to erase their momentum. What the 49ers need to do is very simple. It’s about getting a big lead early. That puts pressure on the Packers. The 49ers are no strangers to applying pressure, but they are a team that does it by punching their opponents in the mouth.
If the 49ers do this early, they will immediately take away Green Bay’s momentum, which is critical to success. If the 49ers do that, I think the Packers will retire early. They stop. Why? Because it is a young team. The Packers became the youngest playoff team in 50 years. They really shouldn’t be here, which shows how impressive they were that way. If these dynamic 49ers get out to an early lead, the Packers’ young players will start to feel overwhelmed and embarrassed.

I expect the 49ers to treat the Packers as a team that deserves everything they can so they can easily find the Packers and come out strong. All the offense has to do is string together back-to-back scoring drives on the first two possessions, and the defense has to stop the Packers.
Once they get the lead, it will be a completely different game for the Packers. And I know they can’t beat the 49ers. Experience is key here and the 49ers need to open it with the Packers. Get hit early and watch how they react when they fall behind. I think they will start to build up and eventually stop. Take away their confidence and momentum early and see what the Packers are really made of. If the 49ers do that, they will win big.
