This past Sunday, the Detroit Lions defeated the Rams and their former quarterback, Matthew Stafford, in a game that broke viewership records on television.

During the teams’ postseason preparation, Lions rookie standout Sam LaPorta received an update on the Buccaneers’ injuries. Big predictions were made for the Lions’ Divisional Round matchup against the Bucs.

A subject from the Lions’ thrilling victory over the Los Angeles Rams was spoken about on Wednesday.

As usual, when asked if his squad had been playing dirty, Lions manager Dan Campbell would not back down.

Campbell Responds to Joseph Controversy

Campbell discussed the play in question, in which Rams tight end Tyler Higbee was tackled low by safety Kerby Joseph, landing him upside down and causing an ACL rupture.

Campbell stated that he didn’t think the tackle was unclean. While some commentators have advocated for more examination of tackles made below the waist, in which the defensive player is flying in and ultimately flips the offensive player, Campbell delivered a direct message to those who believe Joseph’s hit was “dirty.”

Another fan sent a photo that seemed to show a Rams player diving at Lions tight end Sam LaPorta’s knees. LaPorta had suffered a knee injury the week before.

Lions Divisional Round Opponent Set

The Lions’ Divisional Round opponent is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the game time set for 3 p.m. ET.

The Lions are hoping that LaPorta, QB Jared Goff and others play their best football at a time when Baker Mayfield and the Bucs are expected to present a difficult challenge at Ford Field.
