After spending 11 seasons in Detroit as a first-overall pick by the Lions in 2009, Matthew Stafford was traded to the Rams in 2021. The next season, he was the Super Bowl winner.
Kelly Stafford said it was fine that fans booed her husband.
“I am not playing the game with my girls. I’m certain that my girls won’t be made fun of. I am capable of handling that, replied Stafford. “But maybe not, there’s something to say about it when my girls are next to me.”
She expressed her continued affection for the team, saying that she is now hoping for the Lions to win the Super Bowl and “bring home a Lombardi.”
Matthew Stafford Stays Quiet on Fans
With Lions supporters, Matthew Stafford wasn’t quite as giving. After the game, when a reporter asked Stafford about his thoughts on the city of Detroit, Stafford only replied he was supporting the team and refused to discuss his sentiments about the supporters in general.

He’s their quarterback, according to Stafford. “He’s playing really well. Today, he guided them to victory. I’m glad for him. I felt he did a great job playing today. Right now, his offensive is playing at a very high clip, and for that, they should be proud of him. They ought to be applauding him.

On January 21, the Lions play the Tampa Bay Bucs, with the possibility of winning a trip to the NFC Championship game at stake.
