The Buffalo Bills face a very familiar foe, the Kansas City Chiefs, in the divisional round this week. But this time it will be Buffalo’s stadium, a rarity in their games in recent years. These teams have played six times in the past half-decade, with five of those six games taking place at Arrowhead and all of the playoff games taking place in Kansas City.

Finally, the Bills got a chance to play the Chiefs at home, which suggests the Chiefs are having their worst year in the Patrick Mahomes era. Mahomes’ worst year is still nothing to scoff at considering the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year and had one of the best defenses in the league. This is a golden opportunity to beat Josh Allen’s brother, AFC, who has yet to win a postseason game.

The Bills are coming off a big loss to this team in the playoffs, so this Bills team will have no shortage of motivation to get over this hill and finally knock off the defending Super Bowl champions. But if they can’t get over that hill now, there’s no reason to believe they ever will.

The Buffalo Bills had their best performance of the year.

This year the Bills beat the Chiefs in the regular season and there was a very controversial call that robbed the Chiefs of a great play that gave them an early lead. Mahomes walked onto the court to shake Allen’s hand after the game, and in a very cute, childish way, Mahomes complained to Allen about the call.

There will also be a fire under Allen and the Bills as they have yet to get real revenge on this team that knocked them out of the playoffs twice. This year looks really easy for the Chiefs and now they have to make the playoffs for the first time in the Mahomes era. There was no way you could beat them like now.

And Stefon Diggs would do just fine, as he stayed on the field and watched their entire celebration when the Bills suffered a playoff loss to the Chiefs a few years ago. Buffalo has no shortage of motivation, and I know they haven’t had a better opportunity to beat Kansas City since Allen joined the team. They need to leave it all on the field and ultimately destroy their AFC opponents.

if not now, then when?
