The Pittsburgh Steelers will not be competing for any of the big names on the market.The Pittsburgh Steelers will hire an outside candidate as offensive coordinator, and whoever it is will have previous play-calling experience in the NFL and a detailed background in quarterback development.

One option that has been around the last couple of years is former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.

The former Steelers quarterback won a Super Bowl in Tampa Bay and is eager to return to the coaching ranks following his firing. But a Pittsburgh insider says you can rule him out as the Steelers’ next OC. “It won’t be Leftwich,” Kaboly said. “I could tell you who it won’t be more than it will be.”
