Jared Goff, the former first overall pick, has lived up to the hype as the uncontested leader of the Detroit Lions through the first two rounds of the NFL playoffs. He has led the team to two victories and a trip to Levi’s Stadium for the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Despite not being regarded as one of the league’s best quarterbacks, most would probably rank Goff as a second-tier player because of his ability to maintain the Lions’ competitiveness on the field each and every week, which has contributed to the team’s success this year.

According to 49ers on NBCS, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan had nothing but praise for quarterback Josh Goff and his ability ahead of the team’s playoff matchup with the Lions in the Bay Area. Shanahan knows his squad will have its hands full trying to restrict Goff on Sunday.

Shanahan described Goff as “as accurate as any quarterback I’ve seen.” “He is an extremely talented player. He’ll gash you if you sit and make things simple for him. Whether he’s with the Detroit Lions or the Los Angeles Rams, I’ve witnessed it time and time again. That’s why he puts you to the test. He can quickly make you look foolish, so you had better be on your game.

This weekend, Goff will probably face Nick Bosa and company, but he also has the advantage of playing behind one of the top offensive lines in the game right now. Goff is more than capable of carving up an excellent NFL defense.

Shanahan is obviously not taking QB Jay Cutler lightly, even if the 49ers are currently the overwhelming favorites (-7) and he knows he needs to restrict the three-time Pro Bowler to win this game.
