On Sunday, which was Championship Sunday, the 49ers and the Chiefs advanced to the Super Bowl. For the second time this season, the 49ers were behind by double digits as the Lions led 14-0 at the beginning of their game. The Lions stormed into the end zone during an incredible first half.

24-7 was the score at the half. The offensive wasn’t finished, even though it appeared like the Niners could finally be eliminated. San Francisco entered the field with the ball slung around. Although the drive appeared promising, it only produced a field goal. From this point on, the 49ers defense took over the game.

They would be stopped twice in a row, one of which included a fumble. The Niners scored touchdowns on each of these drives, tying the score at 24 all. After exchanging possessions a few times, the 49ers would score a field goal and a touchdown, which was essentially the final nail in the coffin.

The Lions had time to tie the game, but they just ran out of time. The group appeared to have regained some of its impetus. Detroit reached the one-yard line after driving down the field. In a desperate attempt to score on a fourth down, the Lions completed a pass, giving them three points. George Kittle caught the onside kick as Detroit lined up to attempt it, bringing the game to a conclusion.

This team had the ability to quickly adjust and gather momentum, even when they appeared to be finished for the season. The 49ers will face fierce opposition from veteran quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs quarterback is familiar with what it takes to win the big game because he has been there before.

Brock Purdy, a sophomore, will face a challenging opponent because this will be his first Super Bowl experience. Purdy will be under constant pressure from the Chiefs to make poor throws during the game. This game could go to anyone, but with the 49ers coming back from a 17-point deficit, this could be their year to win it all.
