The Dallas Cowboys’ desire for Dan Quinn hasn’t changed, sources tell Cowboys SI.com: If he can’t land a new head coaching job in Seattle or Washington, he’ll have a second visit to D.C. begins this week – the plan remains for him to return to The Star.

But what if Quinn leaves? NFL Network has an NFC East “Musical Chairs” game in which his office here at the Star will be taken over by… ousted Washington head coach Ron Rivera.

Quinn, the current defensive coordinator in Dallas, Washington… and Washington ex Rivera in Dallas?A sort of compelling ‘trade’.

Rivera has extensive coaching experience and defensive acumen, having been the Super Bowl head coach at Carolina, as well as a longtime coordinator.

In Washington, he may have failed because former owner Dan Snyder simply asked him to do too much; Snyder, needing a public shield, literally involved Rivera in nearly every aspect of running the franchise, including nickname changes.
