OFFENSE

The Steelers averaged 5.0 yards per play. It was connected to Washington, Chicago and Denver. Seven fouls resulted in an average of fewer yards per second.

When broken down by who was on the field for each snapshot of 2023, the Steelers’ offense was younger than all but two teams (Green Bay and Indianapolis), with an average age of 26.2.Pittsburgh passed the football on 52.7% of its snaps.

This was the 28th lowest score of the league. No team ran the ball at a lower percentage (47.7%) than the Steelers. In the first half of games, Pittsburgh had the ball 43.4 percent of the time, the third-highest percentage in the league.

In the second half of games they achieved a percentage of 46.5%, the seventh highest percentage. Only the Eagles ran the ball faster than Pittsburgh, both inside the 10-yard line and inside the 20-yard line.

When leading by seven points or more, only the Cardinals and Falcons ran the ball faster than Pittsburgh. When trailing by seven or more, only the Falcons ran the ball at a faster pace. With over 10 yards to go, the Steelers had the fastest ball speed in the NFL.

They ranked second to Miami in scoring percentage on first downs. In terms of seconds between plays played, only five offenses have been slower than the Steelers.

The Texans were the only team with fewer turnovers than Pittsburgh (16), and the Steelers’ plus-11 turnover differential was better than that of any team except the Ravens and Giants.
