Like many of you, I woke up Monday morning exhausted, disappointed and angry about the Lions’ stunning 34-31 loss to San Francisco.
But it is our resilience, as a city and region, that ensures we continue to move forward.
Even in our darkest moments, Detroiters have always believed that our future is bright.
“we hope for better things” – is also us.I want us to keep this feeling now.Whatever our situation, we must continue to move forward and improve our communities. We become what we are.Nothing has ever been easy for us here in Detroit.
Success in our region comes slowly and methodically. And neither a win nor a loss will ever define us or our team.
I know the Lions will. And they will do it in a way that reflects our triumph as a city.
