Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has had enough heartbreak on the football field to start the new year. Instead of competing in the 2024 Pro Bowl in Orlando this weekend, he’s preparing for the relaxed yet competitive atmosphere of the golf course.

According to The Buffalo News, Allen is not expected to miss the Pro Bowl to qualify for the PGA Tour’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. The event begins on Thursday at Pebble Beach, California.

Allen is an avid golfer and is currently competing in his third consecutive offseason. Last season, he tied for fourth place with PGA professional golfer Keith Mitchell, behind tournament winner Ben Silverman and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Allen, a finalist for the AP Most Valuable Player Award, led the NFL in total yards (4,830) and total touchdowns (44) during the regular season. He finished the regular season 385-of-579 for 4,306 yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. But his rushing numbers boosted the Bills, as Allen finished with 111,524 yards and a career-high 15 touchdowns.

Allen also became the first player in NFL history to record four consecutive 40-point seasons with a Week 15 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Allen was named MVP finalist for the third time (2020, 2022, 2023).
