Josh Allen, the top pass rusher for the Jacksonville Jaguars, made a loud statement to general manager Trent Baalkle this week on his impending free agency.

After an incredible season in which the Edge recorded the second-highest number of sacks in the league (17.5) for the 2023 campaign, Allen is returning.

The Jacksonville Jaguars intend to maintain Allen Josh

As was previously mentioned on GH, Baalke gave Jaguars supporters confidence in January that Allen would be retained for the 2024 campaign, even if it meant using the franchise tag:

Allen “will be a Jaguar” for the 2024 season, according to Baalke and the Jaguars website. The Jaguars are not close to signing a multi-year contract extension with Allen, according to Baalke, who also raised the prospect of using the franchise tag to retain their standout outside linebacker. The Jaguars and Allen, according to Baalke, would need to determine a “good” amount for everyone:

The negotiations will begin, according to Baalke. Josh wants to be here, I know that. We want him here, I’m sure. Is there a number we can agree upon that suits everyone? I appreciate that because it’s crucial. These individuals have to be respected because they put themselves in this situation. They put up a lot of effort in their task. They should be well compensated. It’s possible that their definition of “good” differs from ours.

“All we need to do is get together, have a conversation, and figure things out.”

All we need to do is get together, have a conversation, and sort things out.

Allen: Business is what drives the NFL.

BREAKING: "Let' Talk Business" -Josh Allen Sends Message To Jacksonville Jaguars About New Contract

Allen presented his version of the deal tale on Friday at a Pro Bowl gathering. This season, Allen received a nomination for the second Pro Bowl of his NFL career. According to a video that Justin W. Lewis from Jaxdotcom posted on X, Allen stated that “business” was the most important thing to him.

“After witnessing it firsthand, I’ve come to realize that the NFL is ultimately a business,” Allen remarked.

After witnessing it personally, I’ve come to realize that the NFL is ultimately just a business,” Allen remarked.

You know, I enjoy playing sports, I respect them, and I love my people, so if I do what you do on the field, that’s okay. Although I enjoy the competitive aspect, it’s still just business at the end of the day. You will be thrown out if you handle it or consider doing anything about it. In my opinion, let’s talk business. Come on, let’s do it.

The franchise mark is an element of the company.

Allen refuses to change his mind on his contract. Given that Allen just finished his finest NFL season, he shouldn’t.

That implies, though, that Baalke will most likely use Allen’s franchise tag for the 2024 campaign. After just one standout season, the Jaguars won’t want to pay Allen’s asking price.
