During NFL Honors, another Jacksonville Jaguars offensive player was nominated for Offensive Player of the Year on the same night that running back Travis Etienne was.

Calvin Ridley, a wide receiver with the Jaguars who missed almost two full seasons prior to 2023, was voted second-place winner for Comeback Player of the Year.

In addition to missing the most of the 2021 season owing to injuries and other circumstances, Ridley was suspended for a year after breaking the NFL’s gambling policy, which kept him out of action in 2022.

In 2023, Ridley caught 76 catches for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns, marking his second career 1,000-yard season. In addition, he played the whole season in good health, starting every one of the 17 games following his 2022 season-long suspension.

“It felt satisfactory. In my opinion, it wasn’t the greatest season at all. We definitely didn’t accomplish the desired results as a team. It wasn’t everything I wanted for myself, personally,” Ridley remarked on Monday.

“I believe I’ve demonstrated my ability to run.” I know I can play as long as I can run and cut.

All I had to do was become more concentrated, more efficient, and quicker at establishing my routine. It’s harder than people believe to figure out how to get back into the swing of things more quickly. I was attempting to learn the game more quickly and to recall those one-on-one scenarios and scenarios. Although I believe that next year will be better for me, it was still necessary for me to finish this year.
