The San Francisco 49ers made a significant roster move on Friday, announcing the release of veteran cornerback Isaiah Oliver.

This decision comes after Oliver spent just one season with the team, having signed a two-year, $6.75 million deal in March of the previous year.

The move, according to Spotrac, allows the 49ers to free up $2.4 million in salary cap space, a crucial factor given their financial constraints.
During his tenure with the 49ers, Oliver appeared in 17 regular-season games, starting in six of them. He contributed 67 tackles, one interception, and one fumble recovery. However, despite his regular-season involvement, Oliver did not see any playing time on defense in the team’s three postseason games. Instead, he was limited to special teams duties, accumulating 35 snaps in that capacity.
