Deebo samuel had to set the record straight amid all the talk about brandon aiyuk and the 49ers. On up & adams, the san francisco 49ers wide receiver was seen by kay adams on tuesday.
Samuel was asked about Aiyuk’s future and his thoughts on his rival’s. Although deebo isn’t a general manager by any means, he would be surprised to see his teammate not in red & gold.
“i love that guy,” he says. On tuesday, samuel said about aiyuk, “i don’t see him leaving.” The host accepted the sentiment, describing it as a possible “mistake” by the 49ers.
Brandon aiyuk, 25, is off to the best season of his nfl career. In his first all-pro appearance, the rocklin native ran for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.
BA is expected to be given a major contract extension after his fifth year, according to samuel, who has told the player he is deserved.
“The season he just came off of, as well as the seasons before,” he said. “i mean, if you look at his stats from when he first made it to the league and now look, it’s just a different kind of leap,” samuel said.
“I told him, ‘you put yourself in a position to be where you want to be,’” samuel, 28, signed a new deal with the 49ers ahead of the 2022 season, locking him down for three more years. He gave his two cents to his younger brother, who had already gone through the process.
The most important tip is to not expect it to be a smooth operation.
“i just told him, because i’ve been through it, that it’s not going to be all fine and dandy like you think it will be.” From samuel’s chat with aiyuk, he said, “you got to keep the course.”
“You did everything possible to get to where you are now. “just let it all work out,” aiyuk may have to wait a bit before committing to a new deal.
According to reports, a meeting between the 49ers and aiyuk will take place, but not until after free agency.
