For the 2024 campaign, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars are interested in a seasoned offensive tackle.

Mitch Morse, a former center for the Buffalo Bills, was released by the team on Wednesday. Two separate NFL teams are vying for his attention right now.

On Friday, Mitch Morse concluded his meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Without making an agreement, Morse left. He left Pittsburgh right away to head to Jacksonville Jaguars meetings.

The Bills cut 31-year-old Mitch Morse as part of a significant roster purge related to the pay cap. After playing for Buffalo for five seasons, Morse was selected for the Pro Bowl in 2022. For the last five seasons, he has been the Bills’ main center starter. He played center for the Kansas City Chiefs for four seasons before to that.

Does Morse make sense for the Steelers of Pittsburgh?

Mitch Morse would immediately take over as the Pittsburgh Steelers’ starting quarterback. Ryan McCollum is the sole center on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ roster. After being added to the Steelers practice squad, raised, released, and then added back, McCollum is currently signed to a future/reserve deal.

Does Morse fit with the Jacksonville Jaguars?

The team that will receive Mitch Morse visits next is the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, Jacksonville’s situation differs from Pittsburgh’s Steelers’. Since being selected, the center for the Jacksonville Jaguars has started every game.

In the 2022 draft, Luke Fortner was selected 65th overall. He started from the beginning and hasn’t stopped since. His current Pro Football Focus grade is 44.3. The goal for the Jaguars is to get better at center field.
