The tight end for the Cowboys shared an odd picture to his Instagram Story. The following statement was found inside the team’s practice facility on Friday afternoon:

“Being a player, coach, or employee of the Dallas Cowboys is a privilege, not a right.”

Ferguson’s remark was made a few days after Dalton Schultz, his former teammate and current tight end with the Texans, blasted the Cowboys’ culture and said Houston had a superior one.

“Just football is the focus, you understand?” Schultz stated on Wednesday on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “A lot of people are surprised by what I’m going to share about my experiences visiting the Cowboys practice facility and game day, where I describe some of the relationships and everyday stuff that you witness. “Holy crap,” they exclaim. That takes place at a practice facility, really? You arrive in a location like this and assume everything is normal.

“Dude, Dallas really is a zoo.” While doing power cleans or anything, there are people tapping on the window to draw people’s attention. It is distinct.

There’s nothing wrong with that because it’s their established brand, what [owner] Jerry Jones enjoys, and how they do business. You never know how many eyes there are in the locker room or how much the very act of being in the building can distract you until you walk someplace else and realize, “Holy crap, there’s none of that.”

Before Schultz inked a contract with the Texans this past offseason, Ferguson and Schultz were teammates for the Cowboys in 2022–2023 at the same position.

Prior to joining the Texans last season, Schultz played for the Cowboys for the first five seasons of his career. During the regular season, he had 59 grabs, 635 receiving yards, and five touchdowns.

Ferguson, the grandson of renowned Wisconsin football coach and athletic director Barry Alvarez, is dating TCU basketball player and social media influencer Haley Cavinder.

Ferguson had a breakout season in his second season with the Cowboys last year, totaling 71 receptions, 761 receiving yards, and five touchdowns during the regular season.
