Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, filed a lawsuit in Collin County on Monday against a woman who he claims is attempting to demand $100 million from him in order to resolve a 2017 sexual assault complaint.

Prescott is requesting damages for mental distress and pain and suffering totaling $10 million.

A Fort Worth woman and her attorneys, Bethel T. Zehaie and Yoel T. Zehaie, were the targets of the lawsuit, which was filed in Collin County, Texas.

In a text message to the Star-Telegram on Monday, Prescott refuted the assertion.

Prescott stated in the text, “She is trying to get $100 million from me to ‘not report’ a rape case I obviously did not do.”

McCathern stated, “Mr. Prescott was the target of an extortion plot recently.” “The defendant and her legal team have demanded that Mr. Prescott pay $100 million right away in exchange for her not filing false accusations with the authorities, and they have threatened to go public with a wholly made-up account of sexual assault that occurred almost ten years ago.

“Mr. Prescott, who recently became a father to a little girl, has a lot of compassion for victims of sexual assault. He firmly feels that those who commit these kinds of crimes ought to face the harshest penalties available. To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never had sex with someone without their will.

Lies cause pain. in particular, dishonest lies. We refuse to let the defendant and her attorneys make money off of this attempt to demand millions of dollars from Mr. Prescott.

Based on a letter he received on January 16, 2024, Prescott filed an 11-page lawsuit in which he claimed to have sexually abused the Fort Worth woman in February 2017.

The letter said, “… has had to live with this pain and trauma for 7 years.” “It had such a profound effect on her relationship with her fiancé and her day-to-day life that she needed to attend therapy and counseling sessions and will continue to need them in the future. She has endured unspeakable mental suffering as a result of the trauma of becoming a victim of sexual assault.

She is prepared to accept payment for the mental suffering she has endured in exchange for not filing criminal charges and not making this information public, even in light of the sad circumstances.

The total estimated amount of the damages is $100,000,000. The deadline for your response to this demand letter is February 16, 2024.

In exchange for being compensated for the mental distress she has had, the letter said, “she is willing to forego pursuing criminal charges, along with disclosing this information to the public…. damages are valued at the sum of $100,000,000.00.”

Seven years after the claimed incident, Prescott’s lawsuit claims the defendants conspired to extort, denigrate, slander, and tortiously interfere with his existing and potential contracts with full knowledge of his imminent talks of a new deal.

Prescott, according to McCarthen, “will continue to cooperate fully in their investigation” and has reported the issue to the “appropriate authorities.”

Prescott has pledged to donate all proceeds from this litigation to the Joyful Heart Foundation, whose mission is to end child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault worldwide.
