The Dallas Cowboys announced the dates of their off-season workouts on Friday morning as the NFL offseason begins. The 2024 NFL Draft’s “First Day” is April 15, which is 12 days early.

“Organized Team Activities (OTAs)” take place from May 21–23 in the beginning and again from May 29–31. The “Mandatory Minicamp” is scheduled for June 4-6.

The continuous offseason is crucial for a team trying to turn things around. Dallas has routinely fielded one of the best teams in the league, but the team has always struggled in the postseason.

All eyes will be on franchise quarterback Dak Prescott when practices begin. He had a fantastic season last year, totaling 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns, and just nine interceptions.

To date, Dallas has kept cornerback Jourdan Lewis, running back Rico Dowdle, long snapper Trent Sieg, and cornerback C.J. Goodwin while adding linebacker Eric Kendricks via free agency.

The NFL broke down the three stages of offseason training last year.As stated by the league…

The first two weeks of the program, known as Phase One, are devoted solely to meetings, physical therapy, and strength and conditioning exercises.

The last three weeks of the curriculum comprise Phase Two. Workouts on the field might involve individual or group teaching and drills, “perfect play drills,” and walk-through plays and drills in which offensive players line up across from defensive players and defensive players line up across from offensive players. Drills involving live contact or team offense against team defense are not allowed.

The remaining four weeks of the curriculum comprise Phase Three.

Teams are allowed to engage in organized team practice activities, or “OTAs,” for a maximum of ten days. Drills such as 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 are allowed, but actual contact is not.
