The favorite to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool is Ruben Amorim.

The favorite to take Jurgen Klopp’s position in the Liverpool dugout is Ruben Amorim, the manager of Sporting Lisbon.

One of Liverpool’s most recognizable managers, who shockingly revealed his decision to leave at the end of the season earlier this year, is still being replaced.

Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen was considered the front-runner to succeed Klopp because of his success in the Bundesliga and legacy on Merseyside.

But earlier this week, days before he took a 13-point lead at the top of the table after Bayern Munich’s defeat to Borussia Dortmund, which effectively concluded the title fight, Alonso announced he would stay with Leverkusen for the upcoming season.

According to a number of sources, Liverpool was well aware of Alonso’s plans during their ongoing manager hunt, with Amorim emerging as the clear front-runner to take over.

Jurgen Klopp announces he’s leaving Liverpool

Although Julian Nagalsmann, the manager of Germany, and Roberto De Zerbi, the manager of Brighton, are also reportedly on Liverpool’s shortlist, it is said that Sporting Lisbon’s manager has the advantage in the competition to succeed Klopp.

Amorim, 39, has had a great deal of success with the Portuguese team. In his first full season in charge, he guided them to their first league championship in 19 years.

Sporting is once again leading the division and has impressed with 77 goals scored against just 26 goals allowed.

With Amorim’s arrival, Liverpool, who have largely relied on Klopp’s tried-and-true 4-3-3 formation during his tenure on Merseyside, may adopt a new approach.

The former Benfica midfielder has preferred a 3-4-3 formation at Sporting, which may ultimately result in the absence of one of Klopp’s major acquisitions. Here is how Liverpool may lineup if Amorim is hired.

Alisson, one of the greatest goalkeepers in the world, will undoubtedly return as a starting despite Caoimhin Kelleher’s outstanding play.

Although Virgil van Dijk has not yet agreed to a new contract at Anfield, he has performed at his peak level this season since he replaced Jordan Henderson as captain.

Joe Gomez and Ibrahim Konate will probably sit in the midst of a back three with him.Given their stellar performances this year and the fact that both players are expected to join a prominent Premier League team in the summer, Liverpool may also try to raid Sporting for Goncalo Inacio or Ousmane Diomande.

Amorim’s flowing form would make him the ideal choice for the character of Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right, considering his flair for drama.

He can impact the game more offensively when moved up the field, and a back three offers greater defensive stability behind him.

Andy Robertson is still Liverpool’s top option on the opposite flank, but the club may try to sign a younger player. Rayan Ait-Nouri, a defender for Wolves, has been linked in recent weeks, and Klopp is said to have recommended him to the team.

Since Amorim likes to play a double-pivot, things might become interesting in the middle of midfield.

Hidemasa Morita is the midfielder who advances more in his Sporting system, pushing into the box or drifting wide, while Morten Hjulmand is the screener who sits and provides security during transitions.

Wataru Endo appears to be ideal for the more defensive role, leaving Dominique Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister to compete for the remaining central position. Mac Allister may have the advantage because he has emerged as one of Klopp’s most crucial players in recent weeks. Thankfully, Szoboszlai’s versatility allows him to play a variety of positions and, in an emergency, go up the field.

With 22 goals and 10 assists in just 25 league games this season, sporting striker Viktor Gyökeres is now among Amorim’s highest scoring forwards. Darwin Nunez, who will probably be surrounded by Mohamed Salah and either Luis Diaz or Diogo Jota in the Liverpool attack, may benefit from this.

Liverpool’s potential line up under Ruben Amori

Before the season ends, it’s unlikely that Klopp’s replacement will be revealed, given the ramifications of the title for both teams.

Amorim is looking for further success with his present team, but it looks like he will eventually join one of Europe’s best groups.
