The Red Devils’ injury difficulties continue, as a “world-class” Manchester United player might now be sidelined for this weekend’s pivotal Premier League encounter due to a knock.

Man Utd injury updates

After eliminating them from the FA Cup last month, the Red Devils have an opportunity to undermine their fiercest rivals’ chances of winning the championship on Sunday afternoon. They lost 4-3 against Chelsea on Thursday, giving up in stoppage time, so they’re not very confident going into the match against the Reds.

Furthermore, United’s injury woes continue, as seen by the forced absences of Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane at Stamford Bridge, who now join Tyrell Malacia, Anthony Martial, Lisandro Martinez, and Luke Shaw among others.

Injury concerns can be offered as an explanation for Erik ten Hag’s team’s poor performance this season, given the number of important players who have missed time due to injury, particularly in defense.

It now appears as though the Red Devils may have another significant player in the treatment room, which is a major issue, with Sunday’s visit from Liverpool approaching.

“World-class” Man Utd star could miss Liverpool

Injury specialist Ben Dinnery stated on X that Casemiro is questionable for Liverpool’s matchup against Manchester United. This week, he has been hit even harder:

“After being forced off at Stamford Bridge, Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans sustained injuries that are still unknown at this time. Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez will be out for at least a month. Harry Maguire and Willy Kambwala could be teamed centrally. Casemiro, who heard a knock, will also be examined.”

Even if Casemiro is getting older and may not be as strong physically as he was when he was at Real Madrid, it would be a huge loss if he were to miss the match against Liverpool.

The 32-year-old has played in countless El Clasicos over the years, and that experience will come in handy in what could be a tense and intense match this Saturday.

The Brazilian’s class is summed up by Brendan Rodgers’ remarks: “Casemiro is a world-class player.” He has quality and is composed. We are relieved that he is on suspension. They now have a stabilizing effect from him. They are well-organized thanks to Erik (ten Hag) and his group.”

In the event that he is unable to recover from his knock and is deemed fit for the Liverpool match, a midfield consisting of Kobbie Mainoo, Scott McTominay, and Bruno Fernandes appears to be the most likely starting lineup. This group may not have the ideal holding midfielder, but it does have a lot of energy.
