On Sunday, Liverpool plays a crucial Premier League game at Old Trafford. Just last month, Manchester United defeated the other team in an FA Cup match.

When Liverpool plays Manchester United on Sunday for the second time in three weeks, it will be looking for payback. The Reds’ quest for a triple dream ended on March 17, and they now travel to Old Trafford.

In the FA Cup quarterfinal, Jürgen Klopp’s team was leading 2-1 when a late goal by Antony forced extra time. Harvey Elliott gave Liverpool the lead once more, but Marcus Rashford gave United a response. Then, in the final minute, Amad Diallo ran through to give the home team the victory.

This weekend, the two teams will restart their rivalry, with Liverpool hoping to increase its chances of winning the Premier League. United, meanwhile, is still in sixth place and has a remote chance of making it into the Champions League.

On the Stick to Football podcast, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was asked if this was Liverpool’s hardest title run-in match before the game. Carragher concurred, although he also said the Reds ought to have enough to prevail 2-1.

Jamie Carragher prediction for crunch Liverpool match vs Manchester United

Rio Ferdinand, a former captain of United, expressed his disapproval, saying: “The issue with United is that you never know who (the United side) is going to show up. Liverpool lost that game more than Man United won, even if it defeated them the other day.

Liverpool is playing consistently well and has a bit between its teeth that, in my opinion, makes them favorites even at Old Trafford. I will, however, aim for a draw. I intend to go for a 1-1.

Following his suggestion that Manchester City is still the clear favorite to win the Premier League, Ferdinand made this forecast. The veteran defender stated on TNT Sports after City defeated Aston Villa at the Etihad on Wednesday: “On paper, I think City has got the easier run-in.”
