BBC analyst Michael Brown stated that Erik ten Hag needs to see a significant response from his team.

Manchester United has had a challenging week as they have dropped three points in two games in which they were leading well into extra time in London.

Mason Mount gave Erik ten Hag’s team the lead in extra time against Brentford, but they were unable to hang on for the victory.

The situation worsened on Thursday as they lost 4-3 to Chelsea after having come back from two goals down to grab the lead and remain ahead until the 99th minute.

Ten Hag’s job is now even more in jeopardy with that brutal loss, and things won’t get any easier this weekend.

Old Trafford will host United and Liverpool one more, and former Manchester City midfielder Michael Brown has offered his forecast.

Michael Brown’s Manchester United vs Liverpool prediction

Brown stated, “That’s what they’re going to be like [motivated], and I think Liverpool controlled that tie,” during an appearance on BBC’s Friday Football Social.

It was evident that Manchester United was not going to come close. They were actually pushing a keep ball around.

“After a little magic helped them tie the game again, it was undoubtedly a fantastic finish for such a significant match between two of the biggest football teams in the world.

“Will Manchester United receive a response? They’ll probably be hurt, and they’ll probably be feeling sorry for themselves because Liverpool is currently riding high.

“I do think Liverpool will win the game, but Erik ten Hag and Manchester United need to respond first.”

Can Man United repeat their last meeting with Liverpool?

Because the teams last played a few weeks ago, United can at least enter the game with some confidence despite the events of the past week.

Despite United’s remarkable perseverance in defeating their bitter rivals twice after falling behind, this time around is totally different.

Given that United had nothing to lose in the FA Cup final, Ten Hag was able to take a risk and go all out for the win by substituting multiple attackers.

On the other hand, when he felt the game was over, Jurgen Klopp rested some of his most vital players. a chance he refuses to take this time.

Liverpool leads the table and is involved in a close contest for the championship. They will be significantly more motivated this time around because one mistake might have serious consequences.

It appears dire for United.
