To clear salary space and recruit fresh players in free agency, almost every NFL Insider thought the Dallas Cowboys will offer Dak Prescott a contract extension. However, Jones hasn’t taken any action and is letting Prescott finish out his contract.

The team has lost a number of coaches, most notably defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who left to take the head coaching position at Washington, a rival of the Cowboys, taking with him several assistants.

Dallas is anticipated to replace a few of its best playmakers on both sides of the ball in addition to its coaches. The most obvious need is a running back to take Tony Pollard’s spot, who signed a deal with the Tennessee Titans.

If Dallas wants to contend for a Super Bowl in 2024, there are undoubtedly important decisions to be made in the NFL Draft. However, according to a source, the Cowboys brass is about to sign a big contract extension with one of their best players.
