According to reports, the NFL is altering its regulations to permit clubs to use a third helmet with their chosen uniform combinations.

Per NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero:

According to a source, the NFL notified clubs today that it had changed the uniform policy to let teams to choose a third helmet style. This expansion is now available to all clubs for the 2025 season after being made available to the teams undergoing the re-design process for the 2024 campaign.”

For teams hoping to really change things up with their jerseys in the future, this is fantastic news.

As of right now, it is reported that teams like the Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, New York Jets, and Cleveland Browns are changing their uniforms for the upcoming season. As a result, these teams will be the first to claim the third helmet capability. The option will be carried by all other clubs through 2025 and beyond.

This implies that for their third alternate appearance, the Cardinals will continue to wear their black helmets with their home red uniforms and their base white helmets with their white road outfits. Red helmets have been requested by certain supporters; however, it is unknown how the Cardinals would go about implementing that look (albeit they will have a year to prepare).

Desert camo and yellow have also been options.

After revealing their brand-new jerseys throughout the offseason, Arizona has not disclosed any intentions for a makeover, according to Cardinals team reporter Darren Urban:
