What Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominik Szoboszlai were spotted doing at half-time vs Palace

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dominik Szoboszlai were seen interacting during today’s halftime break against Crystal Palace.

Liverpool was not expecting the first half of the match to be their response to a recent run of poor results. Liverpool needed to recover from both their defeat to Atalanta and their draw at Old Trafford.

But Liverpool underperformed against Crystal Palace in the first half, failing to go all out in the game.

The Reds lacked bite in front of goal and played slowly in the build-up. Even worse, Palace far too frequently came in behind Liverpool’s defense and they were too simple to counter.

As a result, Liverpool gave up within the first fifteen minutes of the match. Eberechi Eze, who was entirely unmarked inside the box, received a pass from Tyrick Mitchell after he dashed past a few opponents into the penalty area.

What Dominik Szoboszlai and Trent Alexander-Arnold did during the half

Simply said, Liverpool’s performance in the first half was inadequate. The whistle signaled the conclusion of the first half, and Jurgen Klopp ran to the changing room.

Additionally, he made rapid substitutions, substituting Wataru Endo with Dominik Szoboszlai at halftime.

It was an essential adjustment. Endo found it difficult to enter the game, and with Liverpool down a goal, they really needed Szoboszlai’s vigor and offensive prowess.

Alexander-Arnold was another player Klopp brought on quite early in the first half. Despite Conor Bradley’s excellent form, that was more of a forced substitution because he had to leave the field due to an injury.

However, according to Ian Doyle of Liverpool ECHO, Szoboszlai and Alexander-Arnold were also seen having a “animated discussion” while they warmed up on the sidelines prior to the introduction of both of those players.

Why the return of Trent Alexander-Arnold is fantastic

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s comeback was one of the positive aspects of the Crystal Palace match.

Due to injuries, he has had his longest layoff since joining the first team. However, it was wonderful to see him back on the field and doing so brilliantly.

He is ranked first in the Premier League this season by the following criteria, per Wyscout:

moves on to the last third (13.78% per 90).

The penalty area is passed to (6.03 per 90).

Passes that progress (14.87% per 90)

Passes through (3.16 per 90)
