After his team lost to Crystal Palace, Andy Robertson criticized his fellow Liverpool players.

Arnold Klopp’s Crystal Palace defeated title-chasing Liverpool 1-0 on Sunday at Anfield, allaying their worries of relegation and jeopardizing Klopp’s chances of winning the Premier League in his farewell season on Merseyside.

Liverpool finished the weekend in third position, two points behind leaders and defending champions Manchester City and on the same point total as second-place Arsenal, who suffered a setback against Aston Villa, thanks to a goal from Eberechi Eze in the first half.

Palace had opportunities to increase their advantage; Jean-Philippe Mateta’s attempt was blocked by Robertson and Alisson Becker made a fantastic stop from close range on another.

In the meantime, Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, and Curtis Jones were among the Liverpool players who dropped a number of huge chances to draw the game.

Following the match, Robertson lamented Liverpool’s wasted chances and said that his team’s forwards needed to “do better.”

Meanwhile, Klopp labelled the game a “horrible watch”.

Klopp said to Sky Sports, “The first half was absolutely not good enough.” “In the second half, we displayed a response. Our confidence from the previous game faded. The goal, which is a terrible goal, is conceded. That is not possible—a player in the six-yard box who is totally free.

“Crystal Palace didn’t have that many after that. The second half was better under our control. I believe it’s easy to say, “What can you say if you don’t score with these chances?” We attempted to alter the framework, which really messed them up.

“If you were to examine my teams over the years, you would conclude that while we have good pressing and counter-press, we are simply too exposed. How is that possible to occur? It was only Curtis who was truly pursuing. They could continue to play. Seeing that was awful.

That’s the way people can occasionally react. It takes place. There was no conviction. Our distance from one another was great, the last line was too deep, and the midfield was lacking. The press wasn’t actually started by the first line. All of that is accurate. From where is it coming? I am unable to respond to that completely.

We feel like complete failures right now, and we need some time to come to terms with the fact that we lost the game. We’re losing for the second straight home game, which is a terrible time. I would be dishonest if I picked someone up right now. As I stand here, I feel so unexceptional, so underneath. Interviews are not my way of changing the world. I need some time to consider it.

“Why should we win the league if we perform like we did in the first half? Yes, we can score a few points here and there if we play as we did in the second half.”
