Given his impressive dressing room demeanor, the Sporting Lisbon manager is being strongly linked to take over as Jurgen Klopp’s successor at Liverpool.

While there are still many contenders to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool this summer, it’s safe to say Ruben Amorim of Sporting appears to be leading the pack. The 39-year-old has been strongly associated with the position, and there have been rumors circulating today that Amorim’s team and Liverpool are in discussions on a potential transfer.

Amorim, who has gained recognition for his work in Lisbon, is receiving more attention as a result of the rumors. He has won the Portuguese League Cup twice and the league once while at Sporting.

In addition, he has received their version of the Community Shield. In addition, he was the Braga manager that won the League Cup before joining Sporting.

Amorim has been named Manager of the Year once and has earned eight Manager of the Month titles in the Portuguese league. As a player, he also took home 11 team awards, demonstrating that he was born with a winning mentality. However, as noted by journalist Ben Jacobs, he possesses additional character traits that will help Liverpool.

It’s Not a Done Deal Yet for Amorim

There are still more names in the frame.

Roberto De Zerbi of Brighton is still being linked to Liverpool.

Despite having a contract with Brighton through 2026, he has declined to commit to the team for the upcoming campaign. There have been rumors that he has a £12 million release clause.

According to reports, the Liverpool players want Pep Lijnders, Klopp’s current assistant, to become their new manager. In recent months, he has been associated with European powerhouse Ajax, expressing his desire to become a manager in his own right.

Amorim possesses all the personal qualities required to succeed at Liverpool, even if everyone of them has their own unique qualities. In an exclusive interview with  journalist Ben Jacobs reaffirmed those assertions regarding Amorim and Liverpool.

‘Very Frank and Candid’ Amorim Regarding Players

Sporting players hold Amorim in the same regard as Klopp does at Liverpool. That is a result of his direct, no-nonsense managerial style. He is trusted by the players, and the fan base shares this relationship and level of confidence.

More people at Liverpool than at nearly any other English football club value and strengthen the relationship between the manager and players. That will therefore be a key factor in Liverpool’s decision on their guy. It appears that Amorim is in the lead in that area.

“He does more than just stroke people’s egos in the locker room or during recruitment. Because of his reputation for being direct and honest, he is well-liked by athletes who believe that anything he says can be trusted.

“So I think that’s something that will go down very well at Liverpool and it’s one of the reasons why if they select Amorim, he should be a good fit.”
