The representative for 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has refuted yet another report surrounding the player.

According to a team source cited by Noah Strackbein of All Steelers, a website affiliated with SI’s FanNation network, the Pittsburgh Steelers “would be surprised” if they didn’t finally acquire Aiyuk in a trade on Monday.

Chase Senior of Chat Sports then addressed the report in a video that was uploaded on X, the website that was originally known as Twitter. Ryan Williams, Aiyuk’s representative, responded to Senior’s video on Thursday by disputing the report.

Williams posted on X, “Another’report’ that couldn’t be more incorrect.” “Fictional ‘journalism’ should really stop.”

Williams refuted a rumor a few days prior that stated Aiyuk asked to be traded out of San Francisco.

As Aiyuk approaches the last year of his rookie contract, he is looking for a contract extension. There was a “little bit of a standoff” in the negotiations between the 49ers and Aiyuk, according to a report from NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo on March 29.

However, earlier this week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the 49ers have not entertained trade conversations with interested teams, a sign that they are still dedicated to negotiating an agreement with their former first-round pick.

Aiyuk, who turned 26 in March, recently had his greatest season in his four years of professional baseball.

He was selected to the Second Team All-Pro in 2023 after recording 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns.
