Many assumed the Pearsall pick would represent an Aiyuk replacement, but the possibility of replacing Samuel was a bit surprising.

Samuel has two years left on his contract, while Aiyuk has just one and will be heading into the fifth-year option of his rookie deal.

Aiyuk emerged as the top option last season while Samuel put up 60 catches for 892 yards and seven touchdowns, as Aiyuk’s chemistry with Brock Purdy continues to blossom and general manager John Lynch has stated he wants Aiyuk to finish his career in SF.

There is a universe in which the Niners will have to pick between Aiyuk and Samuel because they cannot afford to pay everyone.

Ricky Pearsall may be able to lessen the final loss if he performs well, but for the time being, it looks like the Niners will have all three players on the field.

Although there have been a lot of trade rumors circulating about San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk in recent weeks, he is not the only one to have to deal with them this offseason.

Deebo We’ve heard directly from Samuel about the rumors that have been circling his name and that he was supposedly dangled once more during the initial days of the NFL Draft.

When Dianna Russini of The Athletic approached Samuel about the team selecting Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall as a possible successor, he responded, “I know what’s going on, but it is what it is.” I’m content to stay with them. I’m relaxing.
