After spending a season with the Patriots, the running back went back to Dallas.

The return of Ezekiel Elliott, a legendary member of the Cowboys, to the team represents a new beginning and an additional chance for him to perform on the NFL stage.

A welcome reunion for Zeke

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t had the customary hype throughout their offseason, so far.

But in the middle of the quiet, there has been a noteworthy return that has given the club fresh vitality and made headlines.

Elliott is back where it all started in 2023, following a time with the New England Patriots.

He is keen to demonstrate to the league that, both on and off the field, he is still a formidable opponent.

Elliott told reporters that he was determined to prove his worth as an all-around back by showcasing his skills in pass protection, receiving, and running the ball.

“I’m still capable of playing well. Here, I’m [going to] carry on with it. Being an all-around back there is something I’ve always taken great pride in.

“Not just running with the ball but protecting the quarterback and catching the ball out of the backfield.”

Elliott: Dallas feels like coming home

He’s thrilled to don the Cowboys jersey and represent Cowboys Nation once more, especially with well-known players like Dak Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy still leading the way.

As he starts this new chapter in his career, the memories of his incredible rookie season, when he led the league in rushing yards and made a name for himself, are still fresh in his mind.

“It feels great to be home,”  Elliott said.

“I have missed being here a lot. This building was missed by me. I missed the land of Cowboys. Without a doubt, I’m eager to get this underway and excited.”

Elliott’s return makes for nostalgic viewing, but the Cowboys’ running back group has changed since he left.

The relationships have changed since Tony Pollard left, but Elliott is still committed to the work at hand and willing to help out however he can.

Elliott is willing to accept his responsibilities and set an example for others on and off the field, despite the difficulties and unknowns.
