Perrmella Harris, the associate head coach of Morgan State University’s acrobatics and tumbling program, will be a scholarship recipient for the NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) 7th class of the NCAA Academy 2.0, which will be held in Denver, Colorado, from June 16–18. This event is being organized by WeCOACH.

“I am thrilled to be selected to this conference which will enhance my coaching skills, and provide me the tools towards making a positive impact in our student athlete lives.”It’s a true blessing to have been chosen for the 2024 NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy 2.0,” Harris continued.”It was a highly competitive application process with over 250 applications received, but only 22 women coaches across 22 different sports representing NCAA Divisions I, II & III, NAIA as well as national and international teams.”

There will be 22 coach participants in the master learning program, NCAA Academy 2.0. There is representation in the classes from community institutions, NAIA, the U.S. national team, and NCAA Divisions I, II, and III.

“The NCAA is excited to partner with WeCOACH on the 2024 NCAA Women Coaches Academy programs, where some of the most talented collegiate women’s coaches will have the opportunity to elevate their leadership skills and hear the experiences of championship coaches,” DeeDee Merritt, Director of the NCAA’s Leadership “Today’s coaches can benefit from improved tactics and operations during the season with the Women Coaches Academy and Academy 2.0 programs, which could potentially improve the experiences of student-athletes.

The NCAA WCA is a program created for women coaches to improve their overall coaching effectiveness by studying advanced leadership techniques and methods that directly impact their individual and team performance. More than 2,100 graduates have taken part in it.

Participants concentrate on ideas that are not unique to any one activity in a setting that encourages inclusivity within the sports industry. Only open to WCA graduates, the NCAA Academy 2.0 is a small-class master’s program that builds on the leadership, tactics, and expertise they acquired during their WCA experience.
