Dallas police won’t pursue sexual assault charges against Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott

Following a 2017 complaint, a police investigation found “insufficient evidence,” according to Dallas police.

Dallas police have stated that Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Cowboys, will not face charges following an alleged incident in 2017 during his rookie season in which he was accused of sexual assault.

Police announced this week in a statement that there was “insufficient evidence” to support the conclusion that a crime had been committed, following a closed investigation.

According to Prescott’s agents, they were alerted in February to a woman’s allegations that the player had molested her in 2017.

Since then, Prescott has sued the woman, claiming that she attempted to extort him for millions of dollars. According to his lawsuit, the woman threatened to drop the charges and keep the allegations quiet unless Prescott gave her $100 million.

The lawsuit claimed that “this case arises out of a blatant attempt by [the woman] and her legal team to extort plaintiff Dak Prescott by weaponizing sexual assault allegations that are heinous but patently false and have no basis in reality.”

According to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth, the lady accused Prescott of sexually abusing her seven years prior in a police complaint that was submitted following Prescott’s lawsuit.

Yoel Zehaie, the woman’s attorney, stated that they were not shocked when the authorities declared they would not press charges against Prescott.

“In general, victims are reluctant to come forward for a long time. And that makes it extremely challenging to prosecute criminal cases in cases of sexual assault,” Zehaie stated.

Even though the statistics show that extremely few sexual assaults result in prosecution, we are nevertheless pursuing our civil claims.
