Good morning

Interestingly, Little has the leg for the big kicks too – not only did he effortlessly nail the 55 yarder above, but his former Razorback head coach Sam Pittman once said he hit a 68 yarder in practice too. A campus legend in Fayetteville ever since he nailed a game-winning, overtime boot against LSU as a freshman, the Jaguars will be hoping he brings that game-winning mentality to Jacksonville.

Although Jacksonville improved the secondary, I believe greater attention should have been paid to the offensive line in this draft. It is also puzzling that Smith was selected as the backup rather than providing Trevor Lawrence with additional protection.

Josh Allen, an edge rusher for the Jaguars, and new defensive lineman Arik Armstead spent more than an hour on Wednesday’s “Third and Long” podcast talking about Allen’s football background, his time with the team, and other team-related subjects, including what caused the team to collapse in the 2023 season.

Nagy: In their Week 1 matchup, it will be important to monitor Brian Thomas Jr.’s potential as a deep threat and his relationship with Trevor Lawrence.

As he continues to dominate as a pass receiver with routes of 20 yards or more, look for him to shine on the outside. With the Tigers in 2023, he averaged 13.9 yards for target depth, and 25.3% of his targets were 20 yards or more downfield.

The restaurant’s name is derived from Stroud’s nickname, Big Baby, which his teammates gave him when he was a player at the University of Georgia.

Although the Jags appear to be a very good squad going into the season, they are by no means the clear leaders in their division. How much a year can change.

Replacing the departing Rayshawn Jenkins, who signed a free agent contract with Seattle, is the Jaguars’ largest vacancy.

Antonio Johnson, a Texas A&M standout selected in the fifth round in 2023, started three games in the previous season. With just two picks and a well-covered sack, he was able to chart numbers with little usage. A veteran of five years, Andrew Wingard will start in 2021 but is ranked behind Johnson in the depth chart.

The Jaguars selected Erick Hallett II one round after Johnson in the previous year’s draft, and he spent the 2023 season on the practice squad.

After finishing the season with a 72.9 PFF coverage grade with the Ravens, cornerback Ronald Darby was a terrific pickup for the Jaguars.

However, the team now lacks a cornerback with a PFF coverage rating above 70.0 due to the losses of Tre Herndon and Darious Williams. Jacksonville would have a strong combination of starters if Tyson Campbell returned to his 2022 form, which allowed him to rank fifth among cornerbacks in PFF coverage grade (80.7). However, additional depth is still needed.

The Jaguars are counting on Darby to be a perfect fit because he thrives in man-to-man coverage, which is a cornerstone of defensive coordinator Ryan Neilsen’s scheme.

Darby’s injury history (17 missed games since 2021) and his lack of interceptions during 39 starts over the previous four seasons clearly didn’t deter them. Taylor remarked, “I knew my grandmother was going to pass away soon.”

“I informed her that I was returning to school to earn my degree. She may not have understood, but I thought she was grinning at me. For me, that connection was the clincher.

The Oklahoma State product in his second year with the Jaguars has an unbreakable habit of staying in touch with his family, especially with his mother Veronica, whom Lacy refers to as his “hero.”

The mayor’s office said on Thursday that the city would hold its own series of “community huddles” to allow Jacksonville citizens to voice their opinions on the proposed agreement for refurbishing Everbank Stadium.

Wide receiver Jarvis Landry, who is apparently going to participate on a tryout basis, is the most seasoned veteran anticipated to be there this week. Nine-year veteran Landry has been selected to five Pro Bowls and has played for the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, and New Orleans Saints.

He participated in nine Saints games in 2022, was sidelined for the final three due to an ankle injury, and missed the entire 2021–2022 season.
