Jaxson de Ville Named A Finalist for National Mascot Hall of Fame

The National Mascot Hall of Fame finalist Jaxson de Ville, the mascot and local icon for the Jacksonville Jaguars, was announced today. Jaxson de Ville has been on the ballot five times, including five of the past six years, for this prize. On Sunday, May 12, online voting will start, and it will run until Saturday, May 25. Entering his 29th season as the Jaguars mascot, Jaxson de Ville was first found as a stray in the mid-1990s while EverBank Stadium was being built.

He made his mascot debut on August 18, 1996, and as of right now, he stands 8.5 paws tall and weighs a very trim and trim 403 pounds. Despite numerous efforts to reach the field of play, he has never seen action in an NFL-sanctioned game; nevertheless, he has made appearances at halftime games and has gained popularity on social media. When it comes to career zip lines and bungee leaps, Jaxson de Ville leads the NFL in both categories. Those records will probably remain unbroken indefinitely—that is, until some other team tries to top him. In addition to receiving repeated Pro Bowl invitations, he has expanded his celebrity globally by participating in the NFL International Series and making appearances at London’s Wembley Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Thousands of charitable engagements throughout the world, including military deployments to Greenland, Egypt, Kuwait, and Bahrain, are among his career’s highlights. “Jaxson de Ville is the only mascot deserving of induction into the Hall of Fame. “His dedication to the team and the Northeast Florida community is unmatched,” stated Christy Stechman-Zynda, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ director of entertainment groups. The Mascot Hall of Fame Executive Committee chose 19 mascots to be considered for induction earlier this month.

Public ballots, votes from the Mascot Hall of Fame inductees each year, and the votes of an eight-person Executive Committee will all be combined and scored. Mascots that appear on sixty percent or more of the total votes cast in the end will be elected to the Class of 2024. The awardees will be revealed in June, and on August 10 at the MHOF in Whiting, Indiana, there will be an induction ceremony.
