Tom Brady, the great former quarterback of the New England Patriots, ignited a social media firestorm once more when he expressed his desire that Dak Prescott will show up in 2024–2025, even though the star of the Dallas Cowboys earned MVP honors for his achievements last season.

In 2023, Prescott had his best season to date, logging 4516 yards (third of all quarterbacks) from 590 attempts, 36 touchdowns (most) and just nine interceptions (95th most) allowed. He also recorded 39 sacks.

However, everything collapsed during the postseason as the Green Bay Packers eliminated the Cowboys from the NFL playoffs with a 48-32 victory in the wildcard round, led by Jordan Love.

Brady is now hoping that Prescott, who presently has a 2-5 (.285) postseason record, can step it up and perform when it matters.

Prescott’s poor postseason record has been a recurrent feature of his career. “Clearly, the Cowboys’ game is a big draw,” Brady said to Fox Sports: NFL.

“I am aware of the Cowboys’ significance to this network in my new capacity. “Come on, they have fantastic narrative lines. Let us watch to see if Dak Prescott can pull through at last.

Then with a pang of regret, Brady added, “Did that just slip out?”

Fans slam Brady for his words

The remarks made by Brady infuriated Cowboys supporters, who also added that Prescott had really forced the NFL star into retirement—though with seven rings under his belt, he probably didn’t mind too much.

However, the 46-year-old received harsh criticism from the Texans on Twitter, where they instructed him to take it easy on Prescott, who is facing a lot of pressure due to his post-season record.

On X.com, formerly Twitter, a fan replied to the criticism by writing, “Not cool, [Tom Brady]…not cool. Don’t let the fact that your last game was against the Cowboys and Dak get you all snippy.

You’re [GOAT] supreme.I won’t argue with it, but keep an open mind.” Another replied, “Tom, you’re so f**kin funny! How was your most recent NFL game?

A third person said, “Tom Brady’s first game covers the QB that effectively ended what would become his final season.” A fourth person said, “Dak retired you, Tom.”
