Andre Carter, a rookie for the Jacksonville Jaguars and a former Indiana defensive tackle, has formally signed his first NFL contract.

Carter’s rookie contract with the Jaguars is for three years and $2.83 million; no guaranteed money or signing bonus is included, according to Sportrac. Over a three-year period, Casey has made an average annual pay of $943,333.

Carter’s base pay in 2024 is $795,000. Carter will earn a base salary of $960,000 in 2025. Carter will get a basic salary of $1.075 million in 2026.

Carter’s cap hit will be exactly equal to his basic pay if he is cut before the expiration of his contract. In 2027, Carter will be a restricted free agent if he completes the three years remaining on his rookie contract.

After going undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-5, 270-pound player was swiftly signed by Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent.

Beginning this month with rookie mini-camp, Carter will have a chance to earn a position on the Jaguars’ 53-man roster or practice squad for the 2024 campaign.

Carter became one of the Hoosiers’ most effective defensive linemen in just one season at Indiana. After recording 49 tackles, 11.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, four quarterback hurries, and three pass breakups, he was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.

Carter played five outstanding seasons at Western Michigan before transferring to Indiana prior to the 2023 campaign. 135 total tackles, 29.0 tackles for loss, 14.0 sacks, one interception, one safety, five pass deflections, and six forced fumbles were recorded while playing for the Broncos.

As a fifth-year senior in 2022, he put up impressive stats that earned him a spot on the All-Second Team MAC. He recorded 68 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception, and one safety.
