Sean McKeon, a former tight end with the Cowboys, has found a new team, therefore 2024 will be his homecoming season as a former Michigan Wolverine.
The 26-year-old has signed a contract with the Detroit Lions, the organization announced on Thursday. Along with Sam LaPorta, Brock Wright, Parker Hesse, and a few other players, he will compete for a roster position.
In 2020, McKeon became an undrafted free agent and spent his first four seasons with the Cowboys playing infrequently. With three career starts and 45 appearances in regular-season games, he departs.
When he was called up from the Dallas practice squad, he was mostly utilized as a blocker and special team member, totaling six catches for 38 yards.
He only ever caught a touchdown in the Thanksgiving Day shootout over the Raiders in 2021.
