The Green Bay Packers and Jacksonville Jaguars will start the 2024 season with a goal in mind. The Packers want to demonstrate to the rest of the league that they are serious contenders for the Super Bowl.

“The Jaguars aspire to achieve the same goal. They will now be enlisting the help of a former player from the Packers in order to reach their objective.”

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed a ex-defender from the Green Bay Packers.

As per Demetrius Harvey from The Florida Times Union: The Jacksonville Jaguars have released or placed on injured reserve undrafted free agent receiver Wayne Ruby and have reportedly reached a deal with linebacker Ty Summers. The team confirmed the first decision on Wednesday. Summers is set to join the team after participating in a workout with the Jaguars on Wednesday, as reported by Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette. He had a tryout at the Broncos’ rookie minicamp over the past weekend.

The Jaguars recently signed Ruby and 12 other players who were not selected in the NFL Draft that took place last month. Ruby managed to score 74 touchdowns during his five years at Mount Union, with an impressive tally of 30 touchdowns in the 2022 season alone. Throughout his career, he has made 362 receptions for 5,624 yards and 74 touchdowns. His average yards per catch was 15.5 and he averaged 100.4 receiving yards per game during his time at that team.

Summers began his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, where he played for three seasons starting in 2019 after being drafted in the seventh round. The following year, in 2022, he divided his time between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New Orleans Saints, before ultimately sticking with the Saints for the rest of the season. During 67 regular season matches, Summers made 60 tackles, defended one pass, and recovered one fumble. Additionally, in four playoff games, he accumulated four tackles.
