The Raiders of Las Vegas are expanding their group of wide receivers. On May 22, the squad declared that Alex Bachman had joined the team.

Since joining the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2019, Bachman has moved around the NFL. He played three seasons with the New York Giants, which was his longest tenure. He participated in four games, but that was the only team he played for. Bachman has some experience returning kicks and punts, but he hasn’t recorded a reception in the NFL. The Raiders will probably test a few individuals in that position because they don’t appear to have a committed returner yet.

Bachman will have a difficult time breaking into the Raiders squad because their wide receiver group is among the best on the team. He may most easily compete for a roster place by demonstrating his value in the return game. Although the squad has no shortage of talented pass catchers, special teams support would be beneficial.

Three-time All-Pro Devin Adams is in charge of the Raiders wide receiver group. Despite having had his worst season since 2019, he is still a top player. Adams is now the ninth-best player in the NFL who is over 30 according to Pro Football Focus’s John Kosko.

Adams’ poor year in 2023 was not his own fault; the quarterback position in Las Vegas deteriorated, Kosko noted in a column published on May 20. Adams achieved an 80.0 in 2023, marking the end of five years in which he received PFF grades higher than 87.5. Sadly, things won’t get any better in his quarterback room in 2024.

As Kosko hinted previously, it’s challenging to determine with certainty whether Adams is growing older or whether his stats are suffering as a result.

Although he was unable to consistently have an effect on every game last season, he still demonstrated excellent route running. In 2024, the Raiders will probably have inconsistent quarterback play again, therefore Adams may find it difficult to record large figures.

Other than Adams, the Raiders don’t have many standout wide receivers, but they do have some intriguing players.

The No. 2 wide receiver, Jakobi Meyers, has shown himself to be quite talented. Tre Tucker is a potential prospect to watch as the team’s third wide receiver berth becomes available.

The Raiders could see big things from the 2023 third-round pick, according to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox.

“With Minshew joining the team, Tucker is positioned to take off this year for a number of reasons,”

Knox penned a column on May 20.

“Minshew, a 2023 Pro Bowl substitute, ought to enhance Las Vegas’ quarterback performance. Either he’ll get the job and give an improvement, or he’ll pressure O’Connell to work more.

“Tucker will win in either case; he should solidify his position as the third wide receiver behind Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers.”

Given his speed, Tucker is one of the Raiders’ best players and should have no trouble getting open in the deep.

The offensive will be considerably more open if he can establish himself as a trustworthy deep threat.
