The Los Vegas Raiders and Antonio Pierce are highly excited about the 2024 NFL season. Things are starting to get better for the team after years of hardship and missing the playoffs.

With any luck, they can put it all together and take the postseason by storm. That being said, there are still a lot of unanswered questions regarding the Raiders.

Above all, who will be the starting quarterback for the squad in the end? It appears like Aidan O’Connell has the best chance of getting the position. Pierce and the coaching staff have expressed their admiration for the rookie quarterback in no uncertain terms.

To compete for the position, the Raiders did, however, add experienced quarterback Gardner Minshew in free agency this offseason.

The Las Vegas Raiders may also benefit from a little bit more firepower when it comes to defense. That’s where a trade they were recently associated with might be relevant.

Las Vegas Raiders Linked To Huge Trade For Star Pass-Rusher

Analyst Alex Ballentine examined a few possible trade targets for the Raiders prior to the 2024 campaign in a recent Bleacher Report piece.

He mentioned them as a possible trade partner for Matthew Judon, the standout pass-rusher for the New England Patriots. Having said that, they would have one of the strongest pass rushes in the league if they took a one-year risk on Matt Judon. There’s a chance.

After appearing in just four games in 2023 due to a bicep tear, he is entering his age-32 season. However, he has been extremely effective when playing. Together, he recorded 28 sacks in 2021 and 2022.

Judon would be a fascinating addition to the Raiders, no doubt. With Maxx Crosby across from him, he could really hurt things. From a pass-rushing standpoint, the Las Vegas Raiders would possess one of the strongest one-two punches in the NFL.

Judon was limited to playing in just four games with the Patriots in 2023 as a result of an injury. But in 2022, he participated in 17 games and finished with 60 total tackles, 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and seven passes defensed.

4-Times All-Pro Bowl Is Linked To Sign With The Raiders In A Mega Trade Deal

These stats demonstrate the kind of difference he could make for the Patriots or any other team that was willing to make a deal for him.

This is a move to consider if the Las Vegas Raiders want to make a significant impact on the defensive end of the ball. Though obviously entirely theoretical at this moment, the concept seems really reasonable.

When 2024 gets closer, expect to hear more rumblings and trade ideas. Even though the Raiders can decide not to make any additions, they ought to at least keep an eye on the market to see if they can strengthen their roster.
