The Florida product was chosen in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft and has spent his four years in the league as a passable but unspectacular player.
After having his worst season ever, with only 13 receptions for 81 yards and three touchdowns, the tight end thought he would be able to step out from behind David Njoku.
Unfortunately for Bryant, the Raiders may not present that opportunity. Harrison Bryant was chosen as Vegas’ probable roster cut in a piece written by David Kenyon of Bleacher Report that listed one possible roster cut for each team.
Las Vegas Raiders Could Cut Harrison Bryant
It is understandable why Harrison Bryant could be cut by the Raiders. The tight end would have been the second option on the depth chart behind 2023 second-round choice Michael Mayer even before the NFL Draft.
Bryant no longer has a route to the field since the team selected Brock Bowers in the first round as a surefire star. It’s difficult to imagine a scenario in which he receives significant playing time, injury permitting. Even though it will only save $497,000 to release him, Vegas may decide they’re better off without the experienced player.
Assuming the Raiders cut Harrison Bryant, he shouldn’t wait too long before finding a new home. The tight end is not a world-beater by any stretch of the imagination, but he’s an adequate backup who can handle starting duties in a pinch. Seeing as there aren’t enough good tight ends to go around, the following five teams could bring him in.

Loss Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have the single worst collection of pass-catching talent in the NFL. While most of the attention has gone to the receiver, the tight ends are something of a disaster themselves.
Will Dissly and Hayden Hurst might’ve been able to get the job done in 2019, but they’re not reliable options in 2024. Harrison Bryant might not be enough to singlehandedly save this room, but the cut candidate could earn some snaps on this underwhelming depth chart.
New York Jets
The Jets invested heavily in the offseason to assemble a championship-caliber team in anticipation of Aaron Rodgers’ final season or seasons. They have added no significant tight end, while making moves in the NFL Draft and free agency to address the offensive line and wide receivers. Although he won’t be Aaron Rodgers’ first choice, Harrison Bryant can be effective coming in behind Mike Williams, Breece Hall, and Garrett Wilson as a third or fourth receiver.
Miami Dolphins
Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are two excellent playmakers for the Miami Dolphins, and Braxton Berrios and Odell Beckham provide some solid depth. On the other hand, the tight end room needs assistance.
While Jonnu Smith showed glimpses of his potential while playing with the Falcons, he is too old to be a starting tight end. Harrison Byrant might sign with the Dolphins and relieve Smith of some of his duty if he is cut by the Raiders.
Carolina Panthers
Last year, Bryce Young was never given the chance to succeed. The former first-overall pick will have an easier time going forward with the addition of Diontae Johnson and first-round pick Xavier Legette, but he still needs a tight end. Ja’Tavion Sanders is a pass-catcher with potential, but Harrison Bryant, who can contribute right away, is someone Carolina could use.
New Orleans Saints
As Derek Carr is only as good as the players surrounding him, Dennis Allen’s job at New Orleans depends on the team’s success in football. The Saints should try to add as much talent as they can before the regular season begins, keeping all of this in mind.
Taysom Hill is a better gadget player than Juwan Johnson, who is a good player but not the best three-down starter. Harrison Bryant, who should compete with Johnson for the starting role and add much-needed depth to a position that is top-heavy, would be a perfect fit in this room if he were cut.
