He is looking for a deal similar to Justin Jefferson’s four-year, $140 million contract with the Minnesota Vikings. Despite their inability to reach an agreement, some speculate that Dallas may consider trading him.
The Dallas Cowboys Are Thin at Wide Receiver and Running Back
The Cowboys face a lot of pressure to thrive in 2024, but they may not have the strongest offensive roster to accomplish so. Of course, Prescott is an incredible quarterback who gives Dallas a decent shot to compete every Sunday.
Lamb is one of the top wide receivers in the NFL, and if his contract is worked out, he might become one of the most decorated pass catchers in franchise history. In addition, tight end Jake Ferguson is one of the most exciting young athletes at his position in the NFL.
He has smoothly risen to the level of outstanding tight end play that the Cowboys have become known for in previous seasons.
Aside from these players, the Cowboys’ offense consists of has-beens and might-bes. Ezekiel Elliott may be returning as the lead running back, but he has not had a 1,000-yard season since 2021.
Last season with the New England Patriots, he averaged a career-low 3.5 yards per carry. The depth behind him does not instill much confidence in his ground game either. Lamb is the only notable target in the wide receiver room, and, as previously said, he is withholding information. Sure, Brandin Cooks has returned, but he is approaching 30 years old.
If Dallas wants to make the deep playoff run that is anticipated of them, they will need more help in the passing game.
NFL Analyst Suggests the Dallas Cowboys Trade for Courtland Sutton of the Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos are completely overhauling their squad, having fired future Hall of Fame quarterback Russell Wilson earlier this year.
