How Olympic hero Usain Bolt might do in a 100-meter sprint versus a greyhound is depicted in a 3D simulation. In 2009, Bolt broke the world record for the 100 meters in 9.58 seconds.

But compared to the world’s fastest dog, the fastest human history would still appear incredibly slow. A captivating simulation showcasing the astounding disparity in speed between the quickest canine in the world and the fastest person in history, Usain Bolt, has gained widespread popularity.

Eight-time Olympic gold medallist Bolt announced his retirement from competitive athletics in 2017, and it’s unclear if his incredible world records can ever be surpassed. At the World Championships in Berlin in 2009, the 37-year-old astonishingly shattered the 100-meter record with a time of 9.58 seconds.

According to the Olympic website, Bolt’s highest speed was 47.72 km/h, or roughly 29.65 mph, which he achieved when he set the world record for the 100 meters at the 2009 IAAF World Championships.

The Jamaican also set a new record for the 200 meters that same year with a time of 19.19 seconds. Since Bolt is the fastest human since records began, people have wondered how he would do in a race against other animals. One simulation even surfaced that showed the legend racing a cheetah.

The speed difference between a cheetah, Bolt, and an average person is displayed in the speed comparison video, which was provided by Reigarw Comparisons.

There is around a five-second gap between each contender; the average time to finish the race is fifteen seconds; Bolt’s time is ninety-eight seconds, and the Cheetah’s time is five minutes.

Recently, a new simulation featuring Bolt competing against the world’s fastest canine breed, the greyhound, has surfaced. The video demonstrates the striking disparity in speed between the two, with Bolt being far slower than the British animal on four legs.Watch the video here:

The greyhound proved why it’s the fastest dog

Greyhounds are known for their graceful movements and remarkable acceleration. Towcester Racecourse reports that a greyhound can reach a top speed of about 45 mph (72 km/h).

By contrast, Bolt’s world record-breaking effort in 2009 was based on an average speed of about 29.65 mph. The Jamaican was thoroughly defeated by the greyhound in the simulated race.
