For Elliott, the weekend in Nashville was a mixed bag. Along with his unprecedented accomplishment, he also had to deal with setbacks, most notably the termination of his long-term Hooters sponsorship.

Due to unfulfilled contractual requirements, the well-known restaurant brand, which had been Elliott’s No. 9 Chevy’s major sponsor since 2017, dissolved its relationship with Hendrick Motorsports.

Hendrick Motorsports acknowledged the regrettable circumstances that led to the divorce in a statement, but they also expressed their gratitude for the cooperation.

The text of the statement said: Since 2017, Hooters has been an important partner of Hendrick Motorsports, helping to achieve both of our joint triumphs on and off the track.

However, Hooters hasn’t been able to fulfill its contractual duties to our group in recent months. The unanticipated and regrettable events necessitated Hendrick Motorsports to terminate the partnership, even though both parties made great attempts to find a feasible resolution. Having Hooters on our team has been an honor, and we wish them all the best.”

With Hooters serving as the main sponsor, Chase Elliott has one more race remaining. The brand, which has previously supported him in Atlanta and Texas this year, will be present on his vehicle for the fall race in Richmond.
