The two-time PBR World Champion Jess Lockwood is grabbing attention thanks to his arena comeback and a big team trade.

Lockwood recently showed off his tenacity and talent at the Unleash The Beast Gwinnett Chute Out in Duluth, Georgia, where he placed second. This comes after an extended layoff due to injuries.

He has been unable to compete at the highest level since February 2022 because to a damaged pelvis, shoulder problems, and a torn hamstring.

Lockwood was traded from the Oklahoma Freedom to the Nashville Stampede in a significant PBR Teams series move.

This move is especially significant because the Stampede is the current PBR Teams Champion and is led by two-time PBR World Champion Justin McBride.

With Lockwood on the roster, they should be much stronger going forward as they try to hold onto their championship status. The Nashville Stampede will play the Missouri Thunder and Texas Rattlers in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on July 24–25 to begin their season.

Lockwood has shown he is capable of winning championships by putting up multiple solid results and enters the World Finals in second position despite his ailments.

His arrival with the Nashville Stampede is expected to be a game-changer because of his track record of success and the team’s tactical philosophy under McBride’s direction. Perseverance and determination have been hallmarks of Lockwood’s rise back to the top, qualities that have won him over both peers and admirers.

All eyes will be on him as he prepares for the next bull riding season with the Stampede, hoping he can restore his position at the top of the professional ranks.
