In Week 6, the Detroit Lions shocked many football fans worldwide by defeating the Dallas Cowboys 47-9. The Lions used a lot of trick plays in the game, seemingly emptying the playbook for the week with sets intended for flea flickers, hook-and-ladders, and passes to offensive tackles. Considering the outcome of the game, the team’s decisions to play the way they did can be viewed as disrespectful. Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie, who is friends with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and a fan of the team, believes that the Lions’ approach was disrespectful.”That’s Dan Campbell. He’s got no class, never has,” Christie said during an appearance on Sirius XM’s Mad Dog Radio. “It’s fine. Dan Campbell, that’s the way he is. And what goes around comes around.”
Christie knew the Lions and Cowboys from the previous season, when the Lions had lost heartbreakingly due to an officiating error on a play that qualified for a tackle.
The former governor believes that the Lions’ act was classless because it was the result of misdirected rage.
“Look, I believe it is misguided. Dan Campbell is upset because a mistake was made by the referees in a game that happened a year ago. Christie answered, “Well, then, run that play on Roger Goodell.” The play being called wrongly had nothing to do with the Cowboys; they were not the ones who issued the challenge.That was a call made by the referees; the Cowboys won and the Lions suffered as a result. Consequently, you want to show off while you are crushing these guys and rub it in. I do not think professionals do that, but it is his right, he will care about his reputation in the league, and it is his rep now.
