Former New Jersey governor and Dallas Cowboys fan Chris Christie labeled Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell as classless following Detroit’s 47-9 Week 6 victory.
Christie’s issue? Campbell kept his starters in the game longer than Christie thought necessary during the blowout, and ran trick plays that the former governor found inappropriate.
“That’s Dan Campbell. He’s got no class, never has,” Christie remarked to Chris “Mad Dog” Russo on SiriusXM radio last week.
More than a week after the win, Campbell responded to Christie’s comments, laughing them off and downplaying their significance.
” The last time someone called me classless, I was drinking wine from a bottle,” Campbell said, laughing. “But it’s all good. I’m not concerned.”
Campbell has other priorities. The Lions, now 5-1 after a 31-29 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, prepare to host the Tennessee Titans next.
