The Reds appear to be on track to sign Ryan Gravenberch as a new midfielder in the coming hours, but at the same time, there have been persistent rumors linking Mohamed Salah to Liverpool.
David Ornstein stated on The Athletic Football Podcast that Liverpool still has no plans to offload Salah, but that he has now been warned to brace himself for some commotion in the coming 24 hours due to rumors that Salah’s situation at Anfield has changed.
“Now Salah will be mostly responsible for this. Salah would have to display some dispair if he makes a fuss and the offer is made. He wouldn’t have agreed to the new contract a year ago if they didn’t want to announce it, according to his representative this month, but obviously something has changed. It’s not as simple as storming out of Stamford Bridge. I’ve given up making predictions, but Merseyside at Anfield believes he won’t change, but do they really know? said Ornstein.
“Just get ready for some fireworks in this last 24 hours around the Mo Salah situation,” someone suggested to me.
Salah leaving Liverpool in the last minutes of the transfer window would be one of the craziest events in history.
The Egyptian is unquestionably one of Liverpool’s greatest players, therefore it would be astonishing if he decided to depart for Saudi Arabia at this hour.
This is one to watch, as Ornstein notes.
