Washington defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw ended up facing a significant financial penalty following the Commanders’ Week 10 matchup with the Detroit Lions. The 44–22 defeat was rough on the scoreboard, but the fallout afterward proved even more expensive for several Washington players.
While Daron Payne drew the most attention for being ejected, fined, and later suspended for throwing a punch at Amon-Ra St. Brown, he wasn’t the only Commander disciplined. Kinlaw, age 28, was issued a $28,555 fine by the NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct, which included making contact with a game official.
The information was reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Linebacker Ale Kaho was handed an even steeper fine of $46,371 for a helmet-related infraction.
Pelissero summarized the situation by noting that in addition to Payne’s suspension, the league imposed significant fines on both Kinlaw and Kaho, making the loss to Detroit costly not only in the standings but in the wallet as well.
